THANK YOU
for your support of the Belle Vue Arts Festival 2008
32 different people “sat” at exhibitions; 596 children and adults visited Art Full House where the Director of Art at the Wakeman estimated there were 300 exhibitors aged 3 to 93; we estimate that the Garden Trail attracted 450 adults and children to visit 16 open gardens and admire more than 30 scarecrows and sculptures; 200 people attended Local History and Photographic exhibitions; 275 attended or took part in evening events including the Jazz Plus Concert; 224, mainly children but not forgetting the elderly at Briarfileds, took part in Pre-Festival Workshops and we estimate that 500+ enjoyed the activities at Let’s Celebrate Art. We realise that the total of 2600+ does not represent 2600 different people but does give an indicator of community involvement.
The Festival was supported by SABC, SADAA and the Midlands Co-Operative, eleven local shops and businesses gave donations and fourteen more gave prizes. Twelve decorated their windows and eight now possess models of their shops created by Coleham School children, led by local artist and Chairman of Belle Vue Community Arts, Euryl Stevens. 70+ awards were given to children and adults at a special Thank You evening and Coleham School Assembly.
The Committee of Belle Vue Community Arts want to express their gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the 2008 BELLE VUE ARTS FESTIVAL.
