Fantasy Outing:

Myths/Legends

Venue: Mitchell's Fold Stone Circle

Meeting Point: The Abbey Car Park, SY2 6AH

Join us for an early evening adventure to Mitchell's Fold, one of Shropshire's most atmospheric prehistoric sites. Perched high on Stapeley Hill, this Bronze Age stone circle has watched over the landscape for more than 3,000 years, with spectacular views across the Long Mynd and Welsh hills. A perfect setting for creativity, curiosity and a little midsummer magic.

You can choose from two activities, running from 6.15 - 8pm:

Guided Art Activity with Sarah Davies

Capture the fabulous scenery around the stone circle, (including some extra fantasy elements) with guidance from art teacher/artist Sarah Davies.

Please bring a fold‑out chair, a camera or iphone, and an art board if you have one.

We will have spare boards (A3 heavy duty cardboad) if needed, and will provide heavy duty paper and a view finder frame card for our activity

Other useful things to bring, which again we will have spares for:

Oil pastels, 4b pencils, Coloured crayons, Charcoal, Rubbers, Sharpeners, Masking tape

  • The coach will drop you at the Mitchell’s Fold car park (SY15 6DE)

  • Access: The route to the stone circle is an uneven but relatively level 500‑metre walk. Assistance can be provided.

Guided Walk Activity with Dr Natasha Harlow

Join Dr Natasha Harlow for a guided walk exploring the landscape, archaeology, geology and wildlife of the area.

  • Please wear sturdy walking boots, and bring binoculars if you have them.

  • The coach will drop off walkers at xx for a xx mile long walk to the stone circle.

Pub Activity

After your chosen activity, we'll hop back on the coach for a short ride to The Bridges Pub, where chip butties will be provided. Drinks can be purchased at the bar.
