Kicking off our festival this on at 11.00 on 11 June, we would love you to join us at Greyfriars for a laid back family friendly event, with live music and free drop-in art activities. Expect themed information stalls and art activities, plus a toy model railway, Lego and paper planes. Look out for the Ramblers, Shropshire Wildlife Trust, Shrewsbury Urban Sketchers, Shrewsbury Railway Heritage Trust, Co-Wheels Shrewsbury and the Shrewsbury Cycle Hub who will be promoting all things bike related!

Shropshire Cycle Hub

Shropshire Cycle Hub will be promoting all things bike related!

Look out for their gazebo just inside the Quarry entrance
Find out more about their Bike Repairs, Bike Sales and Rickshaws!

(NEW for this year, there will also be Rickshaws out on 19th June as part of the Open Gardens event)

We will be showing recent video footage of Salmon leaping at the weir

Sarah Gibson (formerly SWT), our very own local wildlife author, has agreed to come along for a couple of hours in the morning of the event on Saturday 11 June for an info session and book signing of her recently published book about Swifts:

Swifts and Us: The Life of the Bird That Sleeps in the Sky

There is a joint event planned as part of the Shropshire Love Nature Festival in the late summer on 23 July – 21 August

Shrewsbury Railway Heritage Trust

Find out more about the railway history of Belle Vue and Shrewsbury.
We will also have a toy train set for kids to play with, and lots of Lego to try and create the Darlington Brick Train by David Mach (1997). Incredibly this involved using 185,000 bricks!

Sustainable Transport Shropshire

Find out more about this active campaigning group, who are looking to support more sustainable transport journeys in our town and countryside

Severn Valley Cycle Path
This is a campaign to restore the old Severn Valley Railway into a Cycle Path, focusing on the link between Cross Houses and Shrewsbury.  If successful, this would mean a segregated cycle route is available out beyond the bypass from the edge of Belle Vue. This would be an extension of the current cycle path (old railway line), which runs through the Rea Brook Valley local nature reserve

YES PLEASE – sign me up I hear you say!

Omega will be raising funds for their End-of-Life Care charity through a plant sale.  Perennially popular! (ahem – bad gardening term there). Do bring cash and help a worthy cause

Shrewsbury Urban Sketchers

Join this friendly group and capture the street scene event in your sketch book!

Co-Wheels Shrewsbury

A Shropshire based pay-as-you-go car rental scheme, with five hybrid cars in Shrewsbury and Ludlow.

Avoilable on street to hire 24/7!

Shrewsbury & Newport Canal Trust

We will have leaflets from this campaign to restore this

historic canal link between Shrewsbury and Newport

Evolution Roller Derby

We will have leaflets from this active, alternative group!
