Open Gardens 2025 Highlights
Our most popular event, which once again didn't disappoint. One heavy downpour in the morning and the sun shone for the rest of the day!
Hundreds came to experience a lovely community feel, visiting gardens with artwork, scarecrows, a photography exhibition, live music, refreshments and to help everyone get around - rickshaws!
A HUGE thank you to all the gardeners who gave up their time to make this such an amazing event. Many used the opportunity to fund raise for their own chosen charities and causes, including:
⭐The Hermitage Centre, who sold tea, coffee and a massive variety of homemade cakes over the weekend, raising £800 for the Belle Vue Methodist Church
⭐The Ukrainians raised £1,050 with their delicious Ukranian street food, plus an additional £10 from the book sale.
⭐Tom Hunt sold dahlia's and raised £150 for Coleham Primary School
⭐Alison Cave raised over £1,400 with her mega plant sale, for Medecins sans Frontières (aka Doctors without Borders).
⭐Rowena Oak raised £70 for Unicef, for the Palestinian children
⭐Alice and Phil Perks raised £60 with their book sale, also for Unicef
⭐Celia Ainsworth raised £573 for Hope House
Thanks to your support, we sold over 750 garden programmes, making it possible to bring our wonderful Arts Festival back next year!
